Mission
Loma Linda University Kidney Center has provided care for adult out-patient hemodialysis and adult and pediatric peritoneal dialysis patients for more than 19 years. Located across the street from the Medical Center, this facility has state-of-the-art dialysis equipment and specially trained personnel who make the quality care of the patients their number-one priority.

1997 highlights
At year end, 82 patients were receiving regular hemodialysis treatments three times a week, and 27 peritoneal dialysis patients performed their own peritoneal dialysis daily at home. Nineteen visiting patients came to the Kidney Center for dialysis during the year.

Dialysis care for pediatric outpatients and all inpatients is provided through the main Medical Center dialysis units.

Additional therapies available through the Medical Center are continuous arterio-venous hemofiltration, continuous veno-venous hemofiltration, and hemoperfusion.

The Kidney Center performed higher than the national average on providing adequacy of dialysis to patients.

The Kidney Center expanded treatment hours to offer patients more treatment start times.

Fifteen Kidney Center patients received kidney transplants in 1997.
