Introduction
Adventist Health/Managed Care (AH/MC) is dedicated to developing relationships between payors and providers and offers a full range of managed-care contracting services.

AH/MC represents LLUMC, LLUCH, LLUCMC, LLUBMC, and LLUHC, in addition to five other Adventist hospitals and two medical foundations in Southern California.

1997 highlights
Worked with major health plans to position LLUMC as an essential provider in the Inland Empire

Developed working relationships with large regional networks of primary care providers

Expanded contracts with outside primary-care providers

Developed preferential relationship with Aetna health plan as a tertiary and regional provider

Negotiated language resulting in additional reimbursement and protection from adversely selected patients

Expanding international business by developing business contracts in the Asia Pacific, European, Middle Eastern, and Latin American regions

Penetration of managed care in the Inland Empire
