Home Depot donates supplies to SAC Health System

Richard H. Hart, MD, DrPH (right), president of SAC Health System, thanks The Home Depot representative Bill Reffner (second from right) for their help obtaining necessary items to paint the SAC-Norton clinic. Looking on are Nancy S. Young, SAC clinic administrator (center); Jim Vallentine, commercial sales representative, Glidden Company (second from left); and Micah Taylor, consumer sales representative from Glidden (left). It all began with a letter written by SAC Health System clinic administrator Nancy S. Young to The Home Depot in San Bernardino. Store manager Peter Malis contacted sales representatives from the Glidden Company and Behr Paints, and also asked The Home Depot's commercial paint sales representative, Bill Reffner, to organize the project. The Glidden Company and Behr Paints agreed to donate all the paint needed. The Home Depot donated all additional paint supplies. "SAC-Norton is coming up on its fifth anniversary, serving an average of nearly 40,000 patients a year," comments Dr. Hart. "This special collaboration is allowing us to catch up with some deferred maintenance."
