Longtime LLUMC neurosurgeon retires
Lloyd A. Dayes, MD, PhD, DMin, MBA, professor of neurosurgery, retired from the division of neurosurgery at School of Medicine on June 20. More than 400 friends and colleagues celebrated his more than 35-year tenure at LLU with a retirement party, held in the Wong Kerlee International Conference Center. Dr. Dayes single-handedly began the division of neurosurgery at LLU and continues to participate in the education of residents even after his retirement. At the age of 73, Dr. Dayes does not plan to rest; his "retirement" plans include the development of a neuroscience institute at the University. In the photo above, Dr. Dayes hugs one of his many friends, Joan Coggin, MD, MPH, vice president for global outreach, Loma Linda University Adventist Health Sciences Center.
