LLUMC hosts luncheon and tour for Heritage Society members

[SCOPE, Spring 2002]

On Monday afternoon, November 12, 2001, Heritage Society members were treated to a luncheon in Wong Kerlee International Conference Center.

During the dinner, B. Lyn Behrens, MBBS, president & CEO of LLUMC, presented a brief update on the Medical Center and Children’s Hospital. Richard H. Hart, MD, DrPH, chancellor of LLU, followed Dr. Behrens with a brief presentation and update on Loma Linda University.

Gerald “Jerry” Klein, PhD, spoke to Heritage Society members on what it was like being a Proton Treatment Center patient. Dr. Klein completed two months of proton treatment for prostate cancer on December 29, 2000. Following Dr. Klein’s presentation, Heritage Society members were invited for a tour of the Proton Treatment Center.

Membership in the Heritage Society is extended to anyone who includes a gift to LLU, LLUMC, and/or LLU Children’s Hospital as part of his or her estate plan.

Donors who make these types of provisions do so through a bequest in their will, a trust, a gift annuity, pooled-income fund participation, a life insurance policy, or other planned gift.

Heritage Society members receive LLU&MC publications, a certificate suitable for framing, and invitations to special events. If you would like more information about the Heritage Society, call the office of advancement at (909) 558-4597.
