The Loma Linda Employee Assistance Program (LLEAP) received a three-year re-accreditation from the Employee Assistance Society of North America (EASNA).
"We are the only nationally accredited employee assistance program in California," says Kathleen A. Thompson-Moore, MS, director of LLEAP.
EASNA accreditation is reserved for those EAPs that meet or exceed the highest standards for EAP operations, services, and ethics.
Several months of extensive self-study were followed by a two-day site visit by nationally known EAP experts.
The chair of accreditation for EASNA told Ms. Moore that "the Loma Linda Employee Assistance Program is one of a select few to receive full and unconditional accreditation after the initial visit." Most programs receive provisional accreditation for up to a year while they correct deficits.
The Loma Linda Employee Assistance Program is a free service for employees of Loma Linda University Adventist Health Sciences Center, and is designed to help solve problems which may affect an employee's ability to perform his or her job responsibilities.
Employee assistance professionals are available to evaluate an employee's needs, provide some counseling, and refer those needing longer-term assistance to area professionals.
The Loma Linda Student Assistance Program (LLSAP) provides similar services for students at Loma Linda University.
In both cases, the services are free and the professionals are impartial
advocates for the employees and students, providing confidentiality and
support.
