Nurses worldwide celebrate 100th anniversary of ICN
Nurses from around the globe gathered in London recently to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the International Council of Nursing (ICN).
Delegates from the School of Nursing who attended the event were Helen E. King, PhD, RN, dean; Lois Van Cleve, PhD, RN, associate dean for the graduate program; and Patricia S. Jones, PhD, RN, professor. The Medical Center was represented by Marie Hodgkins, MBA, RN, director of nursing resources.
The theme of the conference was "Celebrating Nursing's Past Claiming the Future." It was attended by more than 4,000 representatives of the national nursing associations from each country that is an ICN member.
All four Loma Linda delegates are members of the LLU International Nursing Council, which represents the combined international thrust of the School of Nursing and the nursing department of Loma Linda University Medical Center.
