U.S. News has ranked four Loma Linda University graduate programs among the best in the nation in its 2001 rankings. Graduate programs receiving high rankings included nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech-language pathology and audiology. Three of the programs are based in the School of Allied Health Professions, and one in the School of Nursing. All students at the graduate level in these programs receive their degrees through the Graduate School. The nursing graduate program ranked 82nd out of nearly 200 schools listed on the U.S. News website. LLU graduate nursing program received a 2.9 average reputation score, with a ranking of 5 being the highest. Loma Linda's graduate occupational therapy program ranked 32nd out of 68 programs listed. Loma Linda's graduate physical therapy program received a ranking of 2.5 average reputation score, with 5 being the highest. The speech-language pathology and audiology graduate program received a 2.5 ranking out of 5. Rankings of the programs were based on the results of reputational surveys sent to deans, faculty, and administrators of accredited graduate programs. The respondents were asked to evaluate the academic quality of programs using the following ratings: distinguished (5 points); strong (4); good (3); adequate (2); and marginal (1), based on their own assessment of the quality of a programs' curriculum, faculty, and graduates. Individuals who were unfamiliar with a particular program were instructed to select "don't know." * * * For further information about the rankings, see the U.S. News website <http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/beyond/gradrank/>.
