Spring open house held at LLUMC for nursing and allied health professions

| The human resource management department took advantage of the recent distinction of top company to work for in the Inland Empire as bestowed by the Business Press to draw possible recruits into the “Connect With Those Who Care” campaign. |
Loma Linda University Adventist Health Sciences Center held a spring open house
for the nursing and allied health departments on April 3. Sponsored by human
resource management, the purpose of the open house is to allow professionals
and students alike to get a taste of the Loma Linda University Medical Center
atmosphere, beyond the formal interview.
The open house affords a unique opportunity for participants. Facility tours
of both the nursing and allied health areas in the hospital provided a look at
where student training and patient care all take place. Attendees visited and
observed as the hospital staff put the whole-person care approach into action.
The three-hour event included all of the nursing and allied health areas, with
booths from the Cancer Institute, surgical services, clinical laboratory, radiology,
respiratory care, nutritional services, volunteer services, Loma Linda University
School of Nursing, Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital, Loma Linda
University Behavioral Medicine Center, Loma Linda University Health Care, the
pediatrics nursing internship, spiritual care, the diabetes treatment center,
home care, nursing resources, med/surg, case management, cardiac ICU, critical
care and emergency department, and rehabilitation services.

Norman Christian retires

Norman Christian retires after 25 years of service with the Loma Linda University Medical Center’s engineering services department. A farewell reception was held for Mr. Christian on April 9 in the MC Cafeteria in the annex room A. Friends, family, and fellow workers dropped by throughout the afternoon to congratulate Mr. Christian on his dedicated service to the Medical Center and genuine friendship to his coworkers. In the photo, Mr. Christian displays the plaque he received for his dedicated service to LLUMC. |
