School of Pharmacy sponsors toy drive during the Christmas season

School of Pharmacy students gather in the lobby of LLUCH to to deliver toys to patients collected during their annual toy drive. More than 200 toys were collected for the 2003 drive.

The School of Pharmacy community service committee sponsored their 2nd annual campus wide toy drive during the winter of 2003 for the children at the LLU Children's Hospital. The drive was coordinated with the hopes of bringing to the children and their families a small reminder that they are supported during their difficult times, and to help them have a warm experience in the hospital during the holidays. The toy drive was an enormous success, thanks to the monetary donations from ISHP (Inland Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists) and School of Pharmacy students and faculty. There were more than 200 gifts collected and purchased. The pharmacy students worked together to create posters, make bins, post flyers, label, organize, and wrap each individual gift. On December 15, the students delivered the toys to the Children's Hospital. The students visited the rooms of each child in the heart transplant, acute care, and oncology departments. The look of appreciation and excitement from the children and their families made the drive a truly rewarding experience. With each gift that was given, a smile was put on the child's face and hope in their heart. The School of Pharmacy would like to thank everyone for their overwhelming support in giving donations.
