Loma Linda University Medical Center news

Endovascular coiling offers choice for aneurysm patients

James Greek, DMin, director of chaplain services, provided the opening devotional on Monday. "Grace never backs down, grace goes after us," he said during his piece titled "Ninja Grace." "Jesus always stood his ground, he never backed down."
Kathy McMillan, director of employee spiritual care and wholeness, spoke to employees about the freeing power of grace in her talk, "Goodbye Guilt."

Gerald Winslow, PhD, vice president for spiritual life and wholeness, Loma Linda University Adventist Health Sciences Center, shared that "Grace is not only the means of forgiveness—grace is the power of restoration. As human parents rejoice in their children, so does God in us. Because of grace, we may approach God with confidence that He will welcome us home."
Kent Hansen, general counsel for LLUAHSC, used a bag full of stones in his devotional, "Confessions of a Rock Thrower." In a powerful moment of silence, Mr. Hansen showed the sound of grace, that of rocks being dropped instead of being thrown. "To believe in Jesus Christ is to believe in change," he said—that we can all change for the better.

Pam Bing Perry, the newest member of the employee spiritual care and wholeness department, shared the final installment of the week of spiritual emphasis on February 6.
Richard Chinnock, MD, chair of the department of pediatrics, lead the audience on Thursday’s devotional in the song "What a Child is Meant to be." The lyrics poignantly stated "I am falling into grace again, and I am running to where mercy never ends."
