Library Link+ service makes book borrowing fast and easy
Starting February 23, Del E. Webb Memorial Library will offer Link+
service.
Link+ is a new library service that allows LLU students, faculty, staff, and
other affiliated users to place book borrowing requests directly with other Link+
member libraries.
Link+ is a free service. The first step in using Link+ is to do a search for
the desired book in the library catalog at <http://catalog.llu.edu>.
If the book is either not owned or is checked out from the Del E. Webb Memorial
Library, simply click the Link+ button.
Link+ then automatically searches the catalogs of the participating Link+ libraries
and sends the request directly to the library that owns the book. There are no
forms to fill out, and requests may be placed from home, office, or any device
with Internet access to the LLU&MC online catalog. Books are delivered quickly,
typically within three days.
To use Link+:
• Search the LLU&MC catalog <http://catalog.llu.edu> for your
book.
• If it is not owned by the Del E. Webb Memorial Library or is checked
out, click
the Link+ button.
• In the boxes provided, enter your name, University identification number,
and
self-selected library PIN number.
• Monitor the progress of your request by viewing your circulation record
at <http://catalog.llu.edu/
patroninfo/>. When a book’s hold status is listed as “Link+ RECVD,” the
book is available for pickup at the circulation desk of the Del E. Webb Memorial
Library.
For more questions on Link+, see the Link+ frequently asked questions at <http://library.llu.
edu/services/linkplus.htm>.
Call the circulation desk at (909) 558-4550 (extension 44550) or e-mail Marilyn
Kelly at <mkelly @dwebb.llu.edu>.
