Marvin A. Peters, PhD (right),
professor of physiology and pharmacology, Graduate School and School
of Medicine, receives the School Distinguished Service Award for
the Graduate School from Dr. Rippon.

Doctoral candidates, who will soon
receive their diplomas for the PhD degree, take a few moments to
pose for a group photo before the processional and commencement
ceremony. Carrying their hoods, they will each be "hooded"
by their major professors upon receiving their diplomas.

|
Graduates
follow along in their programs as the commencement ceremony takes
place. Receiving diplomas were 178 individuals--146 with master of
social work, master of science, and master of arts degrees, and 32
with PsyD and PhD degrees. |
 |

Mr. Winters, who is completing his training as a chaplain in Sacramento,
is the first to successfully complete the master of arts degree
program in biomedical and clinical ethics at Loma Linda.
