School of Dentistry holds 50th Anniversary Commemorative Celebration

Richard Hart, MD, DrPH, LLU chancellor, addresses the audience during the 50th Anniversary Celebration.
Present for the celebration are deans (from left) Charles Goodacre, DDS, MSD, current; Judson Klooster, DDS, 1971 to 1994; and Charles T. Smith, DDS, 1960 to 1971. M. Webster Prince, DDS, the School’s first dean, served as dean from 1952 to 1960.

Attendees sign in for the 50th Anniversary Commemorative Celebration. The event was held February 9, in the Gentry Auditorium.

Members of the class of 1957 respond as stories of their class are related.
A fashion show featured dental and dental hygiene uniforms worn during the last 50 years.

Carlos Muñoz, DDS, director of the School’s Center for Dental Research, speaks about the future of dentistry.
Alan B. Woodson, DDS, MS, served as emcee for the evening. Dr. Woodson graduated from the School of Dentistry in 1987.

Dr. Goodacre (far left), introduces 13 original School of Dentistry faculty members.

Dr. Goodacre presents a bouquet to Gloria Ramirez, manager, clinical services division for the main clinic. She is the School’s longest-term staff employee, with 31 years of service.
