Hispanic Alumni of Loma Linda University holds Seventh Annual Scholarship Banquet

Daisy D. De Leon, PhD, associate professor, physiology/pharmacology, School of Medicine, and Marino De Leon, PhD, associate professor, physiology/pharmacology, CMBGT, each received the Special Recognition Award. The HALL banquet began with a reception in the lobby of Wong Kerlee International Conference Center where guests visited with one another, ate refreshments, and listened to live music performed by Duo Eco.

Cari M. Domínguez, MA, chair of the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Washington D.C., gives a motivational speech during the banquet. Elvin Rodríquez plays the piano throughout the evening. Frank Barceló, MPH, MBA, president, HALL, welcomes the guests to the seventh annual banquet.

Nineteen Loma Linda University students receive scholarships from the Hispanic Alumni of Loma Linda University. Leslie Pollard, DMin, special assistant to the president for diversity, announces the special awards.

Students from six schools at LLU earned scholarships. Included are (top left to right): School of Public Health with Patricia K.
