Faculty Notes

Gail Taylor Rice, EdD, professor of physical therapy, School of Allied Health Professions, and associate professor of health promotion and education, School of Public Health, published an article in the April/May issue of The Journal of Adventist Education. The article, titled “Developing high-quality multiple-choice test questions,” explores different techniques for writing tests. Dr. Rice hopes that these tests will accurately reflect student knowledge by eliminating questions that give the answer away and adding more questions that test high cognitive functioning.

Borge Schantz, PhD, professor, School of Allied Health Professions, was published in the February/March issue of The Journal of Adventist Education. His article, titled “The stranger within your gates: Muslim students in Adventist schools and Islam in the curriculum,” discusses similarities and differences between the Muslim and Christian religions and how best to relate to Muslims now enrolled in Adventist schools.
