School of Dentistry to honor first 50-year anniversary class
This year, members of the dental class of 1957 will celebrate their 50th anniversary. They are the very first School of Dentistry class to celebrate their golden anniversary.
According to Kathleen Moore, MHIS, assistant dean, educational support services, the entire class will receive VIP treatment with their travel and stay during the 2007 Alumni Student Convention sponsored by the School of Dentistry Alumni Association.
Special events that have been planned are a 1950s car show February 8 and 9, and the homecoming banquet honoring the class of 1957, on February 8, 2007.
Student table clinic (research) presentations will be held Thursday, February 8, in Wong Kerlee International Conference Center, and the annual golf tournament will take place Friday, February 9, at Yucaipa Valley Golf Club.
Sabbath events include church at worship at Loma Linda University Church of Seventh-day Adventists, with services at 8:30 and 11:15 a.m.
Family day and student dedication will take place Friday, February 9 (reception, 2:00 p.m., School of Dentistry; tours at 2:30 p.m. in the Prince Hall lobby). The student dedication will be held at 4:00 p.m. in the University Church of Seventh-day Adventists.
The weekend will also feature continuing education courses covering the latest in digital radiography on February 8 (an all-day, hands-on course); Western Regional Boards preparation course; CPR training on Friday; and “Spouses in the practice—To be or not to be?” also on Friday.
The women’s auxiliary luncheon will be held Thursday, February 8, 2007. Faculty spouses are invited to this event at Napoli Italian Restaurant.
