SAHP holds chili cook-off on a chilly day


Students from the Loma Linda University Schools of Allied Health Professions and Public Health enjoy a variety of chili recipes during the first annual �Chili Cook-off,� featuring a competition among SAHP faculty and staff.

The event took place during the lunch hour on a blustery Thursday, January 18, near the cottages on the hill. Competing in the cook-off were Margie Martinez, senior administrative assistant, department of clinical laboratory sciences, SAHP; Ernie Schwab, PhD, associate dean of academic affairs, SAHP; Louise Schneider, DrPH, assistant professor of nutrition and dietetics, SAHP; Barbara Parton, administrative secretary, cardiopulmonary sciences, SAHP; and Andrea Walker, administrative secretary, physical therapy, SAHP. In the top right photo, Margie Martinez serves her special chili recipe to a student. The judges picked her chili as best among the five different recipes.

The judges were sequestered to the nutrition kitchen where they could arrive at a fair and unbiased consensus.
