Continuing education cruise to Alaska planned for radiation technologists and nurses in August
Are you interested in a family vacation to Alaska? Loma Linda University School of Allied Health Professions announces a continuing education cruise for radiation technologists and nurses, August 12–19, 2007.
Specialists in all areas of radiation technology—x-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI, NM, RT, and mammogram—can earn eight hours of ASRT Category A credit, all while exploring Glacier Bay, Sitka, Ketchikan, and Juneau, as well as Victoria, British Columbia. Nurses can earn eight hours of BRN-approved nursing continuing education credit.
Speakers will include Kevin Powers, RT, director of education for the American Society of Registered Technologists (ASRT); John Radtke, MR, RT, professor of radiologic and nuclear medicine technology, Loma Linda University; and Carol Davis, RT, MA, radiation therapy program director, Loma Linda University.
“CEU cruises are very popular for the medical and dental fields,” points out Laura Alipoon, EdD, RT, department chair of radiation technology, SAHP, “but this is one of the first for the field of radiation technology.
“Now,” she adds, “nurses and x-ray technologists can take the family vacation that they’ve always dreamed of, and also earn CEUs while they sail.”
