Low-cost speech therapy offered at Loma Linda University

Low-cost, individual and/or group speech therapy for both children and adults will be offered through the department of speech-language pathology and audiology of Loma Linda University beginning in early October. This is part of the student training program. Therapy sessions are supervised by faculty of the department.

The therapy is geared toward:

  • Children whose speech is difficult to understand, those who do not talk at the same level as their peers, and/or any who have difficulty understanding what is said to them.

  • Adults who have had a stroke, other brain injury, or progressive neurological disorder which is causing them to have slurred speech, not understand what those around them are saying, or struggle to speak.

Jean Lowry, PhD, will supervise sessions with preschoolers and school-aged children. Tina Bratlund, MS, will supervise morning sessions with preschool and adult clients.

Caregiver/spouse involvement is welcome. Clients come to the clinic one day a week for a 45-minute session. The cost is arranged on a sliding scale. For further information, call (909) 558-4998, option 1, ext. 47416.
