SPH dean educates area schools about asthma David Dyjack, DrPH, CIH, is pictured at Brookside Elementary, where he gave a presentation to parents about asthma.
At the Beaumont Unified School District on June 6, David Dyjack, DrPH, CIH, dean of the Loma Linda University School of Public Health, gave an assembly presentation about asthma.
He made this presentation to a set of parents, enlightening them of the cost implications, statistics, and management of asthma. The audience was lively and had a lot of questions for him, which he entertained.
This effort culminated in a Beaumont Unified School District Board Recognition Award which was presented to Dr. Dyjack on June 26.
Dr. Dyjack has also delivered asthma presentations to the parents’ club at Westside Elementary School, located in Thermal, California, on April 11, and to the high school students of the Health Academy at Coachella Valley High School, on February 28.
“I want the School to be more than an academic institution; I want us to be rooted in the community, working to improve people’s well-being,” says Dr. Dyjack.
