School of Dentistry department to serve as exclusive respondents to emergency ENT trauma calls at local hospital

In a recently negotiated contract, members of the oral and maxillofacial surgery department in the School of Dentistry agreed to serve as exclusive respondents to emergency trauma calls for ENT at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in San Bernardino. This extends the team’s coverage, as it already shares oral and maxillofacial surgery calls with ENT and plastic surgery at Loma Linda University Medical Center and at Riverside County Regional Medical Center. Residents make an initial response with staff backup from Alan Herford, MD, DDS, associate professor; Liviu Eftimi, DMD, DDS, assistant professor; and Wayne Tanaka, DDS, associate professor.
