School of Pharmacy holds two open houses School of Pharmacy faculty members Kathryn Knecht, PharmD, and Linda Davis, PharmD, admire each other’s offices in Chan Shun Pavilion, where a number have moved to make room for new faculty. The open house took place on Monday, September 17. Some students were able to find their way over to the offices and open house refreshments.
On Friday, September 21, the School of Pharmacy threw a pizza party to celebrate the grand opening of the new student lounge. With the expert touch of Billy Hughes, PhD, dean of the School, and his wife, Marilyn, the room was transformed into a stylish—yet functional—area for students to socialize, eat, relax, and study. Myletta McDonald (right), assistant director in the School’s office of student and professional affairs, serves pharmacy students pizza as part of the grand opening celebration. The new student lounge features stylish furniture to accommodate eating, socializing, and study. Comfortable recliners allow students to “put up their feet” after a long day of classes. Tables for eating and study are available. Wireless Internet is provided for students with laptop computers that are set up to utilize it.
