SAHP graduate retained as consultant by major resort and hotel chain
Wong Chi Wing, RD, a 1997 graduate of the SAHP department of nutrition and dietetics, and department head of food and dietetics at Hong Kong Adventist Hospital, has been retained as a consultant by the luxury hotel group Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts to assist in developing menus that bring healthy dining to a higher level of creativity.
Since nutritional needs are unique to each individual, the new menus will allow guests—from business travelers to active, health-conscious vacationers to conference participants—to select from a variety of dishes that are specific to their dietary needs while on the road.
Mr. Wong has 10 years of experience as a dietitian, has served as vice president of the Hong Kong Practicing Dietitians Association, and is often featured on the radio and in publications as an expert on nutrition and diet.
Hong Kong Adventist Hospital was established in 1971 and is well-known for its dedication to providing premium health care services to the community.
Both Hong Kong Adventist Hospital and its sister hospital, Tsuen Wan Adventist Hospital, were the first to receive accreditation from Joint Commission International (JCI), an internationally recognized organization that applies standards to patient care and safety.
Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts currently manages 54 hotels under the five-star Shangri-La and four-star Traders brands, with more than 27,000 rooms worldwide.
