Allied health cruise deadline extended The Loma Linda University friends and family seven-day cruise to the Mexican Riviera has extended its registration deadline to May 16, 2008. Six continuing education units may be earned while sailing on the Royal Caribbean’s Vision of the Seas. Ports of call include Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerta Vallarta, August 10 to 17, 2008.
According to Laura Alipoon, EdD, director of the radiation technology department, School of Allied Health Professions, “All are invited to attend. This cruise is for friends and family of Loma Linda University; however, optional continuing education credits are available for all rad techs (radiography, ultrasound, radiation therapy, nuclear medicine, CT, MRI), respiratory therapy, nursing, advanced practice nursing, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, dieticians, social workers, and chaplains.”
The speaker for the cruise is Hazel Curtis, RN, MPH, from the LLUMC staff development office. Her topic will be “Coaching for Success.” This course will help participants become more effective in their interpersonal conversations and relationships, build rapport and interact with someone different than themselves, and utilize tools for improved coaching situations.
