Distinguished professor title bestowed upon Children’s Hospital surgeon Leonard Bailey Leonard Bailey, MD, chief surgeon for Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital, recently received the title of distinguished professor in the School of Medicine at Loma Linda University. The title was bestowed to him during the August meeting of the Board of Trustees and the title took effect August 23.
The distinguished professor title is a position of special merit rank, awarded to a full-time faculty who has made distinguished contributions in teaching, researching, publication, or creative work.
Dr. Bailey joins the following in attaining the rank of distinguished professor: Stephen Ashwal, MD; Bernard Briggs, MD; David Baylink, MD; Raymond West, MD; Larry Longo, MD; and Ian Fraser, PhD.
