10th annual Pediatric Critical Care Symposium held September 9 and 10

Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital held the 10th annual Pediatric Critical Care Symposium September 9 and 10 at Wong Kerlee International Conference Center. The two-day event, focusing on the care of the critically ill child, featured both guest speakers, as well as experts from LLUCH and Medical Center.The conference covered topics ranging from cardiac dysrhythmias and brain injuries to new developments in the realm of critical care infectious disease.The conference was designed to help those involved with caring for critically ill children to recognize and understand the unique differences that impact care of the child in an intensive care setting. One hundred sixty-two attendees filled Wong Kerlee International Conference Center to explore several key issues related to pediatric critical care, including clinical management issues surrounding youth exposed to the “rave” culture that is associated with designer drug abuse.
