LLU and LSU host annual BALL Banquet Mary Frances Berry, JD, PhD, was keynote speaker at the 23rd annual BALL banquet. Dr. Berry is a professor of history, University of Pennsylvania.
Nearly 350 people attended the 23rd annual Black Alumni of Loma Linda Universities (BALL) scholarship banquet. The event was held at the downtown Los Angeles Marriott, on February 25, 2006.
W. Augustus Cheatham, MSW, vice chancellor, public affairs, addresses the guests during the banquet. Mr. Cheatham served as master of ceremonies for the event.
B. Lyn Behrens, MBBS, president, LLU, and Richard H. Hart, MD, DrPH, chancellor, acknowledge their support of BALL.
Scholarship recipients (from left): Seth Anjejo Owuor, School of Public Health; Sherma Charlemagne, School of Science and Technology; and Asharie Johnson Campbell, School of Science and Technology, each received a $2,500 scholarship. The Joe Bagg Quartet provides entertainment for the evening.

Dr. and Mrs. Reese continue to contribute countless hours to the success of the BALL organization. He is treasurer, and she is a member of the executive committee.
