Family Health Fair to be held Sunday, October 31

On Sunday, October 31, Loma Linda University, Medical Center, and Children’s Hospital will host the 27th annual Family Health Fair (formerly known as the HealthFair Expo). Last year more than 3,000 people participated in the Family Health Fair and toured more than 50 stations.The event provides individuals the opportunity to participate in their own health care management through free health screenings. They can also learn to live a healthier lifestyle through information offered at the many health education booths. Not only will treating problems before they arise prevent pain and anxiety, making the lifestyle choice to take care of yourself now also saves money later.In addition to free flu shots for adults (over age 18) and children (with a physician’s note), many free family health screenings will be available, including:• Dental• Health age appraisal• Vision• Body fat • Height/weight • HearingFree educational information will also be available on topics such as:• Disaster preparedness• Cardiac care• First aid• Home care• Children’s health• Nutrition• Prostate• Pharmacy• Cancer• Senior health• Sports medicineThe Family Health Fair will be held at the Loma Linda University Drayson Center, 25040 Stewart Street in Loma Linda, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. For general information and directions, call (877) LLUMC-4U (558-6248).
