School of Science & Technology professor authors new book Beginnings may be purchased through the Adventist Book Center or by calling (800) 765-6955.
Leonard Brand, PhD, professor of biology and paleontology in the earth and biological sciences department of SST, is author of Beginnings, a recently published book by the Pacific Press Publishing Association.
In the preface of the book, Dr. Brand writes, “In the following pages, I explore the interactions between science and religion in a wide range of topics involving geological history and biological origins and history. In each topic I candidly outline the strengths and weaknesssess of various views and make suggestions for further research. My goal is not to present new scientific data but to illustrate a method of understanding science from a Christian perspective and then to apply that method to actual case studies in the integration of science and Scripture.”
Readers of the book should have a basic knowledge of biology, but will be pleased to read explanations of geological concepts so that they understand the principles presented.
Beginnings retails for $15.99 and can be purchased at the Adventist Book Center. One can also buy the book online at
