School of Dentistry receives $15,000 grant from Versacare The School of Dentistry has received a grant of a little more than $15,000 from Versacare, Inc., to purchase portable x-ray equipment and a digital pick-up unit to be used on future mission trips.
Lane Thomsen, DDS, chair, oral diagnosis, radiology and pathology; Jean Honny, assistant professor, dental hygiene, and Maynard Lowry, PhD, gift planning and special gifts, submitted the grant proposal.
Located in Corona, Versacare, Inc. was formed in 1953 by a group of Seventh-day Adventist laypersons who established the Versafund to support the principles and mission of the Church. They award grants to ministry projects within the North American and Inter-American Divisions of the Adventist Church. Funding is provided to support innovative ideas, especially in the areas of Christian education, youth ministry and health care.
