East Campus Hospital dedicates chaplain’s office and welcomes new chaplain to staff
Chaplain Hutagaol can often be seen around East Campus Hospital carrying his guitar as he visits patients as new chaplain.
Loma Linda University Medical Center East Campus Hospital held a dedication ceremony for the new chaplain’s office on April 5, signifying the permanent presence of East Campus Hospital chaplain Hendrick Hutagaol.
Chaplain Hutagaol’s office is in the east hall of the hospital, directlly across from the pharmacy.
“I really fell in love with the staff during my temporary assignment there,” says Mr. Hutagaol. “And I felt loved by them.”
He adds, “When the employees confirmed my ministry there, I decided to apply for the job.”
The guitar-toting chaplain can often be heard singing with patients in the intensive care unit and rehabilitation units at East Campus Hospital.
Mr. Hutagaol still has responsibilities at LLUMC’s main campus on units 7100 and 4300, but he will eventually transition to completely focus on the East Campus Hospital.
