Loma Linda University Medical Center’s language services department celebrated two years of translation and interpretation on Thursday, June 8. The department provides in-person Spanish interpreters for the Medical Center and Children’s Hospital, Spanish written translation of documents, American Sign Language services, and telephone-based interpreters for all languages using the ATT Language Line.
Most services are available Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Interpreters can be reached by paging 3715 or by calling the department’s phone, extension 42445. For after hours service or languages besides Spanish, the ATT Language Line can be reached at (800) 874-9426.
The department has a staff of five. The medical interpreters/translators for Spanish are Michael Beltran, Belkys Matos, Katya Campos, and Elizabeth Rangel. Helen Jenks manages the department.
