Tailgate party marks opening of new East Campus parking lot East Campus physicians, staff, and families enjoyed a tailgate party on June 15 to celebrate the opening of the new staff parking lot. The new lot literally paves the way for additional transformation of the East Campus into a state-of-the-art healing environment.
East Campus administration, physicians, and staff celebrated the opening of the new employee parking lot with a tailgate party on June 15.
The lot, located at the southwest corner of East Campus, relieves a chronic shortage of parking and allows patients to have easier access to the East Campus Hospital, ambulatory services building, and Professional Plaza.
While 191 new parking spaces in Loma Linda are reason enough for celebration, the parking lot is also a vital first step in the campus transformation plan.
The next phase will include a new entrance to the campus featuring a park where patients and families can enjoy nature and can practice walking on a variety of surfaces. It will also include a playground accessible to children with disabilities. Without adequate parking for patients and staff, construction could not begin for the next phase.
In keeping with the commitment to beauty on the East Campus, the new parking lot is landscaped and well lit.
