Mike Zitka (center), real estate developer from Cincinnati, Ohio, presents a check in the amount of $50,000 to James M. Slater, MD (left), head of the Loma Linda University Proton Treatment Center, and J. Lynn Martell, DMin (right), special assistant to the LLUAHSC president. Mr. Zitka learned of Loma Linda’s Proton Treatment Center from a friend and former patient, Charles Kubicki. Mr. Zitka made the donation to the Proton Treatment Center “because of the wonderful treatment I have received here, and I want to give back and help with the continuing research in proton treatment at Loma Linda University Medical Center.” In addition to his $50,000 check to the Proton Treatment Center, Mr. Zitka made a $5,000 donation to Drayson Center for the purchase of a treadmill. He made this gift to Drayson Center because of his wonderful impression of the center and its staff. His friend, Charles Kubicki, donated $100,000 to the Proton Treatment Center and purchased two treadmills for Drayson Center several years ago.
