LLUMC medical staff honor members for years of service and outstanding contributions at annual meeting in June
Physicians honored for 20 years of service to Loma Linda University Medical Center received an LLUMC watch.
The medical staff at Loma Linda University Medical Center honored 36 physicians for their years of service and eight more with physician recognition awards at the annual medical staff meeting on June 13. John Testerman, MD, LLUMC medical staff president, gave a brief highlight of the reports from the various departments and then recognized the outstanding service of those physicians with long tenures at the Medical Center. He then awarded the first of the physician recognition awards.
The eight categories and their award winners were:
Leadership: given to Ricardo Luis Peverini, MD, in recognition of outstanding leadership by a physician at LLUMC.
Customer satisfaction: given to Laura Dawn Nist, MD, in recognition of a physician who consistently provides outstanding service for patients and colleagues.
Quality/patient safety: given to Adrian N. Cotton, MD, in recognition of
Physicians honored for 25 years of service to Loma Linda University Medical Center received a framed certificate.
a physician who has improved the quality and safety of patient care provided at the Medical Center.
Professional recognition: given to Stephen Ashwal, MD, in recognition of a physician who has enhanced the academic reputation of LLUMC through leadership in national and international medical organizations, academic publications, and public service.
Education: given to Khiet Doan-Thanh Ngo, DO, in recognition of a physician who devotes outstanding efforts to provide graduate medical education through formal teaching, clinical mentoring, and serving as a role model.
Whole person care: given to Gina Jervey-Mohr, MD, in recognition of a physician who provides compassionate care as exemplified by the Good Samaritan.
Lifetime Achievement Award: given to Roy V. Jutzy, MD, who has served the Medical Center for 43 years from 1963 to 2006, presented to the physician moving to emeritus status
Physicians honored for 30 years of service to Loma Linda University Medical Center received an acrylic engraved plaque.
who has through his or her career advanced the mission of LLUMC to continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ “to make man whole.”
Appreciation and recognition: given to Geoffrey A. Gardiner, MD, who has served the Medical Center for 52 years from 1954 to 2006, in honor and appreciation of a retiring physician that has devoted his career to the healing ministry at LLUMC.Service years honored were:
