Annual senior health and fitness fair to be held at Drayson Center September 8

The fourth annual Senior Health & Fitness Fair, an event specifically designed for individuals ages 55 and better, will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 8, at Loma Linda University Drayson Center, in Loma Linda.

The fair is sponsored by Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP), LLU Drayson Center, and Just for Seniors, a free membership program run by Loma Linda University Medical Center for people ages 55 and better.

As many as 60 exhibitors will be on hand with information on topics such as fire prevention, women’s heart health services, personal emergency response systems, senior recreation and fitness, sleep disorders, insurance, and other services.

Free refreshments and “goody bags” will be available throughout the fair.

Those in attendance will benefit from lectures focusing on nutrition, diabetes, mobility, and aging gracefully. They can watch demonstrations of a senior aerobics class and massage and tour the Drayson fitness center, which will offer a special fair day discounted rate for those who sign up that day for membership.

Last year’s event drew more than 800 people. Free parking is available.

Drayson Center is located at 25040 Stewart Street in Loma Linda. Registration is not required.

For information, call the Just for Seniors office at (909) 558-6384 or Drayson Center senior wellness office at (909) 558-8220, or e-mail <justforseniors@llu.edu>.
