Drayson Center announces plans for fall intramural sports teams

Five intramural sports will be offered during the coming fall quarter, according to Ron Cronk, intramurals manager at LLU Drayson Center.

The deadline for team registration for all five sports is Monday, October 2, by 6:00 p.m.

Fall quarter intramural leagues will include flag football (men’s divisions I and II, co-rec, and women’s leagues); volleyball (men’s, women’s, and co-rec leagues); a men’s midweek basketball league; co-rec softball; and floor hockey.

All will be held at Drayson Center except for floor hockey, which will take place at Fiesta Village hockey rink in Colton. The team cost for this league will be somewhat higher because it is off campus.

“With the closure of Gentry Gymnasium and no replacement facility immediately available,” says Mr. Cronk, “we have found another venue for floor hockey.”

In addition to leagues already mentioned, Drayson Center is organizing a Saturday night co-rec softball church league, which is also open to community teams. This league will begin September 16. Teams are already signing up.

Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to form teams soon. Individuals may also sign up as free agents to help fill out team rosters.
