LLU invites you to stand up with the world against poverty Loma Linda University is inviting you to stand up and fight poverty—and in the process, help set a Guinness World Record.
The School of Public Health student association is working with the ONE Campaign to host a local Stand Up event. Stand Up is a global day of action planned by the United Nations Millennium Campaign. The goal is to gather the most number of people ever worldwide to literally make a stand against poverty on October 15 and 16.
LLU’s event takes place Sunday, October 15, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Wong Kerlee International Conference Center. It is free and open to the public.
In addition to having the crowd stand up in unison for one minute to help set the world record, the event will feature a vespers service and speakers from LLU, relief organizations, and the United Nations.
Representatives from groups such as Bread for the World, the ONE Campaign, and World Vision will be on hand.
