Greetings Gamma Alpha Members!

I am privileged to have been selected leader of our chapter over the next two years. We have many exciting programs planned for you and are striving to appeal to varying interests. Do come and support one or more of our programs this year.

The Gamma Alpha board works on behalf of our members by joining local community projects such as the 3rd annual “Believe and Walk for a Cure” that provides better services for cancer patients in the Inland Empire, our local community. We also support a global project of sending nursing textbooks, and other resources (nursing journals, reference books) to Kanye Adventist Hospital School of Nursing in Botswana, Africa.

Gamma Alpha supports Region 2 of STTI in the planning and execution of an annual regional nursing research conference. We are delighted when we have the funds to support students with merit scholarships and nurse researchers with seed monies for their projects. All of this (and more) is possible when our members faithfully renew their membership to STTI each year. A portion of your dues are returned to our local chapter. These are the funds that serve as our annual budget.

If you are an active member—thank you! If you are inactive, I encourage you to consider becoming an active member once again. Watch for announcements of our upcoming events on this website, STTI connections, our e-newsletters, and Pingg.com e-vitations. If you have any questions or comments, or wish to get more involved in chapter leadership or events, call or e-mail me at ederrico@llu.edu, or phone 909-558-1000 Ext. 83832.
