Undergraduate Programs

The BS degree prepares students for professional nursing in acute and community settings. Students in this program will gain hands-on learning right from the start with clinical groups beginning after their second week. The School of Nursing offers several choices in the Bachelor of Science (BS) program. There is a track available for current LVNs who wish to pursue their BS in nursing. Once accepted, these students will be allowed advanced placement. For those with a BA/BS in another area, LLU has an accelerated track to complete their BS degree in nursing. This path can reduce the regular program by a quarter. Note that prerequisites for this program differ slightly. We also offer an RN to BS track for students with an AS level RN license wanting to obtain a BS degree in Nursing. For working nurses, courses are offered using technology modalities and providing flexibility. This program is available for part-time study. (Admission Requirements and Pre-requisites for this track vary slightly). Students in this track are able to investigate new areas of professional interest along with enhancing their personal and professional growth.

  • Traditional BS track - students coming in with pre-requisite course, no previous degree or nursing license
  • BA/BS to BS track - students with a previous bachelor's degree in another field
  • LVN to BS track - students who have an LVN license
  • RN to BS track - student who have an RN license in the United States
