To be the regional choice provider where the whole person is the focus of “state of the art” clinical care, teaching, and research in emergency medicine
To achieve this mission the Department of Emergency Medicine is committed to:

- Inspire and educate patients, students, residents, and fellows
- Expand knowledge through research and practice
- Promote an environment that reflects and builds respect for human diversity
- Promote engagement of the department’s faculty in continuing education, research, and service
Goals
· To build on the academic excellence and mission of the Department of Emergency Medicine to enhance the quality of the LLU School of Medicine’s graduates.
· To develop a model and strong clinical Emergency Department that will continue to enhance the Loma Linda University Medical Center’s name and reputation
· To become a key player in the overall plan to develop and expand Loma Linda University Medical Center’s influence as a dominant regional healthcare center of excellence
· To meet the emergent health care needs of all patients presenting to the Emergency Department for unscheduled, episodic care by providing compassionate, state-of-the-art emergency care in an environment that supports whole person care
