With a background in medicine, public health, and population medicine, I am an applied and translational researcher. Currently a faculty member with Loma Linda University School of Public Health and School of Medicine. My main research interest focuses on the integration of primary care and public health.  Currently, I am serving as the program director for the Population Medicine MPH program and Director of Applied and Translational Research at the School of Public Health, with overall goal to establish an applied and translational research agenda for the next five years.  I am currently running multiple applied and translational research projects in collaboration with internal and external partners.  For example, I am working with a team of physicians from the VA Loma Linda Healthcare Systems (VALLHCS) looking at improving the access and efficacy of health care services provided by VALLHCS hospital.  I am also working alongside the Associate Dean Research, Dr. Samuel Soret, researching the trends in utilization of Emergency Departments within the state of California. I successfully administered many projects including managing personnel and financial resources as a PI, Co-PI, and Co-Investigator on internally (Loma Linda University) and externally (e.g. CDC, NACCHO, and HRSA) funded grants.
