American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) Institute of Cultural Compentency 2011 provided a unique health education opportunity for faculty in schools of pharmacy to gain knowledge and exposure to a diverse range of issues related to cultural competency in the health professions, particularly for pharmacy education and practice. Various speakers and presentations focused on health disparities, defining cultural competency and its impact on health care, and discussions of health-related issues concerning diverse, racial, and ethnic populations.
