• Measurement of the CSF biomarker Gfap in patients with acute traumatic brain injury ( 2/2007 - 6/2007 )

• Studying the emerging variant of gliomas known as malignant glioneural tumors (MGNTs) via histopathological techniques and determining whether a portion of brain tumors traditionally labeled as glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) are actually MGNTs and may thereby carry a more favorable prognosis compared to garden variety GBMs. ( 7/2006 - 6/2007 )

• Investigating use of advanced MRI techniques including perfusion, spectroscopy, diffuse tensor imaging (DTI) and Oxygen extraction fraction (OEF) for improved peri-operative evaluation of brain tumors. ( 7/2006 - 6/2007 )
