I attended the Psychiatric Congress in November, 2004. It is a congress for mental health workers from all disciplines. This 5 day conference in San Diego provided an excellent opportunity to interface with other professionals, to meet book publishers, psychiatric medication vendors,as well as excellent, updated information in my specialty. I finished 3 workshops on the internet: a) Legal Aspects of Mental Health Care, b} Domestic Violence, and 3) Elder care and Abuse Issues. I also attended CE meetings provided by the School of Nursing. One focused on Culturally Competent Care. Others were focused on Teaching Strategies.
