"The WASC Assessment Leadership Academy (ALA) will prepare campus professionals to provide leadership in the form of workshops, consultation, and guidance, and to support the scholarship of assessment at their institution, as well as other institutions. The Academy curriculum will include both structured and institutionally-tailored learning opportunities in the assessment of educational effectiveness, and it will address national issues in assessment, accreditation, and accountability."

"This intermediate-level retreat is designed for institutions or programs that have some assessment in place and can share their experience. Led by Mary Allen and Amy Driscolll, the retreat focuses on second-stage issues such as broadening faculty acceptance, managing assessment data, and closing the loop, with an emphasis on how-to and problem-solving. In addition, the retreat provides support for the specific goals of participating teams. Before the retreat, registrants will be surveyed about the particular problems or issues they would like help with; this will allow our facilitators and mentors to prepare in advance. In addition, each team is asked to share at least one promising practice from its own experience."
