Dr. Schaepper is the director of general psychiatry residency training at Loma Linda University Medical Center. She is a child and adolescent psychiatrist and medical director of the youth services partial hospital program, intensive outpatient program and the SHIELD program, for adolescents who self-injure utilizing dialectical behavioral therapy. She received her MD at Loma Linda University, and completed a fellowship in Child/Adolescent Psychiatry at UCLA. Her research is in child/adolescent system of care issues, adolescent addictions and first break psychosis. She is an active member of the Red Cross mental health disaster team and participates in facilitating psychiatric residents in responding to local, national and international disasters.
Additionally she is active in patient advocacy and is the current president elect of the Southern California Psychiatric Society where she leads out in excellence in the profession, in clinical standards, and in patient care. ( 7/2010 - 6/2011 )
