Transplant Institute
Current Interactive teaching involves teaching and mentoring Surgery residents rotating through Transplant surgery service. I give a brief overview of imunosuppression, management of infectious complications of immunosuppressed patients, surgical aspects of kidney, pancreas and liver trasnplant including procurement of organs. Interested residents are encuraged to participate in the research program of the Transplant Institute. Medical students who are interested in research are also guided to participate in our research program. Resident lecture series is another aspect of teaching I am involved in- this mostly involves teaching in the form of Mock oral examination. Mentoring in the operating room adds another facet to interative teaching which I continue to do at LLUMC and ARMC.
