3/2015 - 4/2015 High Reliability Leadership
Good leadership is invisible and occurs long before it is needed. Faced with impeding harm, people respond by self-preservation or collaboration with others. Few people are naturally adept at engaging novel, risky situations, working through the uncertainty, and recovering when events go awry, but through experience they learn to handle such situations. If this can be taught we need better teachers. If it must be learned as attitudes and through modeling we need better leaders.
